2022 was an AMAZING year! And I believe that 2023 will be even greater. Each year I come up with a word, action and motto that helps guide my year.
My 2023:
Word: Intentional
Action: To sacrifice
Motto: Trust the process/Trust God ALWAYS
Bonus - Verse of the Year: Ephesians 3:20 [Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. NLT]
I came up with these words through prayer and reading the Bible. I ask God to guide and lead me on His path and that is not always easy. Lately, I have been filled with a lot of uncertainty, doubt, fear, sadness, and feeling lost and alone. However I know that the Bible says God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). This scripture reassures me that the feelings of fear and timidity are not from God and I can go to Him when I feel these feelings, in confidence, that he will replace them with power, love, self-discipline, hope, peace, and strength.
2023 Reminders:
Thy will be done, not mine.
Be intentional about God!
I don't have to be afraid, filled with doubt, fear or worry because I serve a loving, ALMIGHTY God.
Fully let go of who I used to be and fully transition into the new version of me.
Speak positive words over my life and current season. (affirmations)
Be obedient to God.
Feed what is bearing fruit in my life.
Be a giant in the Lord and guard my mind.
Be very intentional with my time, actions, and who I surround myself with.
2023 is going to be very special. God is moving in a great and mighty way. I'll leave you with a scripture my friend recently said to me as a reminder of God's goodness. "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and he will give you EVERYTHING you need." - Luke 12:31 NLT
And a prayer....
God, I am hoping and praying for so much this year but thy will be done, not mine. If any desires are not yours, please take them away ASAP. I only want what you have for me. I pray I am able to discern what is coming my way that has your name on it. I pray my discernment, self-awareness, and soul awareness are heightened in this season. I want to master myself in this season as you see fit. In Jesus name. Amen!
Food for thought: Short-term discomfort can lead to long-term satisfaction.
