Mindset Shift - Affirmations

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE affirmations. I started practicing affirmations in 2019 but didn't fully embrace them until 2021. An affirmation is a statement that affirms something to be true. I use affirmations because they send a powerful message to your subconscious mind. The theory is that when a person starts saying positive affirmations to themselves, although they may not be true, with repetition they embed into the subconscious mind and eventually they become believable to the person. This belief helps make them a reality. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and becomes true. My mindset has shifted in a positive way and it's due to me saying, believing, and taking action with the affirmations I say everyday.


How It Works:

  1. Create a list of affirmations for yourself. (I started with 5 and worked my way up)

  2. Say the affirmations at 2-3x a day while looking at yourself in the mirror. As you say them, believe them to be true.

  3. Mediate on the affirmations. What do they look like in your reality?

  4. Make this a daily habit. Try not to skip any days. (this a key!)

  5. Be PATIENT. It may take some time before you notice any changes. Stick with it! (I started to notice changes within 3-4 weeks of being consistent)

My FAVORITE affirmations RECENTLY:

  • The more I relax, the more I receive.

  • Everyday I am met with more blessings and abundance.

  • I add value to the world.

  • I can learn anything I set my mind to.

  • Wealth exists within me.

  • I am capable of overcoming any money obstacles that stand in my way.

  • I have everything I need to succeed.

  • I am stepping into the most successful seasons of my life both internally and externally.

  • I am built for everything God created me to be.

  • I am magnetic AF and radiate positive energy, love and light everywhere I go.

  • I live life on purpose everyday.

Let's not forget ACTION! Some people believe that affirmations don't work but they don't work because the person doesn't put any action behind the affirmation. You can't say an affirmation and not put any work into it. It doesn't work like that. With every affirmation you say, there needs to be some action or work put into the affirmation. For example my affirmation is: I am a millionaire. I can't just say that and expect to be a millionaire. I have to start acting, thinking, and moving like a millionaire. This is your friendly reminder that you can't just state affirmations, there needs to be action that happens with the affirmation. =)


What does action look like?

  • Write down your goals. Short-term and long-term goals AND the process to achieve to those goals.

  • Stay focused. Plan ahead and minimize distractions.

  • Take action NOW. Like Nike said. Just Do It. Start today right now in this moment. Say aloud: I am becoming the best version of myself and I'm starting right now.
